Spiritual Archery

I had a dream that revealed a strategy of warfare. God is calling us to smite the enemy in the spiritual realm. The Bible when referring to smite, talks about arrows.

The dream was this, I was walking and saw a person standing in front of a car. The car was being driven by the enemy. The car was positioned to hit the person head on, a direct hit. The enemy was laughing and grinning at the attempts of the body of Christ trying to save this person in front of the car. I believe we are being shown a condition of battle that’s not effective. We cannot fight in the 1st and 2nd heaven. We are to go boldly to the Throne of GOD with our Amazing Jewish Lawyer Jesus.

GOD showed me that the body of Christ fights the wrong way. He revealed that we fight a lot of our battles from the flesh which is the 1st heaven.

Proverbs 24:6-7Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)

6 For by wise counsel you can wage your war, and in an abundance of counselors there is victory and safety.

7 Wisdom is too high for a [a]fool; he opens not his mouth in the gate [where the city’s rulers sit in judgment].

The first man of God tried to get the enemies attention so he wouldn’t hit the person. He was yelling stop, you’ll hit him! This did not work, the enemy kept heading towards him and ignored the believer. We don’t need to get the enemies attention to be effective in warfare, God fights the battle. Do not step into the devil’s playground. We are only mighty through God. Go to your Father who fights the battle for us by allowing him to place His hand upon ours with the bow and arrow as we come into agreement with HIS aim! God knows the weakness of the enemy and where to place the arrow.

Next a believer tried to rescue the person standing in front of the car. He then tried to physically remove him but could not. We cannot rescue people nor can we physically do the work for them. We are to allow GOD to route our arrows so we hit the bullseye and dismantle the enemy of any diabolical assignment written or spoken against us.

Psalm 18:14

And He sent out His arrows and scattered them; and He flashed forth lightnings and put them to rout.

Isaiah 49:4

Then I said, I have labored in vain, I have spent my strength for nothing and in empty futility; yet surely my right is with the Lord, and my recompense is with my God.

The third believer tried to stop the tire from crushing the person in front of the car. This did not stop the attack. This left the believer tired, frustrated and in a state of failure. Hearing from heaven breaks the captive free and binds up the broken hearted. The 3rd heaven releases strategy to conquer. Removing people does not keep them from the hit, we actually enable them to continue behavior by making a way with our flesh. However strategies can help the person align with the position of Christ to see truth which brings freedom. Our Dad can move mountains if we trust Him.

Matthew 21:21

And Jesus answered them, Truly I say to you, if you have faith (a firm relying trust) and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, be taken up and cast into the sea, it will be done.

Psalm 140:1

Rescue me, O LORD, from evil men; Preserve me from violent men.

2 Samuel 22:17-20

"He sent from on high, He took me; He drew me out of many waters. "He delivered me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me, for they were too strong for me. "They confronted me in the day of my calamity, But the LORD was my support.. He also brought me forth into a broad place; He rescued me, because He delighted in me.”

We as believers cannot win a war in the natural. The natural approach only band aids the situation which takes us around the mountain for 20 years or more. The natural realm which is fighting in the 1st heaven is flesh and religion. The 2nd heaven is where the demonic are waging war with the Kingdom of Heaven. This is not a realm we are to fight in. We are not big and powerful like angels who serve us by fighting in the 2nd heaven just as Michael did with the Price of Persia. We are to fight in the 3ed heaven where Heaven touches earth. We are supernatural Fire breathing, sword swinging, crossbow specialist.

The weapons of our warfare are not of this world but mighty through God only. We are to overthrow and bring destruction to familiar spirits, strongholds and no curse should lite. Fighting in a realm of no effect causes arrows to hit the ground. Refute Pride and lofty things that come against the truth of the Kingdom. Take every thought captive and submit it in obedience to Jesus. Be fully submitted and obedient so we are secure and complete. Our security is in the Kingdom. Finally let your confidence be a fact that you are in Christ Jesus.

The dream continued as it switched scenes. I did not see the person get hit. God placed man directly on the steps leading to the Throne to ask the Father in Jesus name for Mercy and strategy. The dream spoke so loud and clear and God said. “Smite the enemy!” Then I started yelling! “Smite the Enemy” Smite the Enemy!” “Smite the Enemy!”

Smite Means: Strike with a firm Blow!

Smite: a heavy blow or stroke with a weapon or the hand. Smite is mentioned 89 times in the Bible.

Revelation 19:15

From His mouth goes forth a sharp sword with which He can smite (afflict, strike) the nations; and He will shepherd and control them with a staff (scepter, rod) of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fierceness of the wrath and indignation of God the All-Ruler (the Almighty, the Omnipotent).

2 Kings 13:17

And he said, Open the window to the east. And he opened it. Then Elisha said, Shoot. And he shot. And he said, The Lord’s arrow of victory, the arrow of victory over Syria. For you shall smite the Syrians in Aphek till you have destroyed them.

Psalm 18:14

And He sent out His arrows and scattered them; and He flashed forth lightnings and put them to rout.

The Hebrew word for arrow means wound!

It’s time to pick up bow and arrow!

It’s time for spiritual archery. This is what GOD told me to do!

Let’s look closer at 2 Kings 13:15-19 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)

15 And Elisha said to him, Take bow and arrows. And he took bow and arrows.

16 And he said to the king of Israel, Put your hand upon the bow. And he put his hand upon it, and Elisha put his hands upon the king’s hands.

17 And he said, Open the window to the east. And he opened it. Then Elisha said, Shoot. And he shot. And he said, The Lord’s arrow of victory, the arrow of victory over Syria. For you shall smite the Syrians in Aphek till you have destroyed them.

18 Then he said, Take the arrows. And he took them. And he said to the king of Israel, Strike on the ground. And he struck three times and stopped.

19 And the man of God was angry with him and said, you should have struck five or six times; then you would have struck down Syria until you had destroyed it. But now you shall strike Syria down only three times.

Arrow in Ephesian 6 represents spiritual warfare.

Strategy for Warfare:

Put your hands upon the bow and let the Father place His hands on yours to route the arrow.

Open the Window so that every hindrance or obstruction is removed. (remove all your distraction and business and stay focused in the spiritual realm)

Enter the spiritual realm to shoot your arrows with a bird’s eye view, from the top, down.

Open the prophetic ancient gate to the East which speaks to the coming of the Lion. (Keep your gaze on Jesus) (East speaks to spirituality origins and the beginnings of human events, the direction of our Lords appearance.). Also, East means spiritual seed being sowed for a prophetic purpose.

Shoot those arrows that sow a prophetic purpose. Plant seeds by the spirit and truth that route arrows to smite the enemy. The purpose of Prophesy is to point to Jesus. When you prophesied Jesus you pierce the heart of man.

The command was to smite them on the ground. The assignment is to remove and disable evil so they cannot get up! Elisha said, "The arrow of God's deliverance has gone forth; it has already found its mark and done its work. You have now, if you will but believe it, these Syrians crouching at your very feet. God has already humbled them, and they are now at your mercy. Smite upon the ground. They are already at your feet. God has delivered them into your hands. Smite! Smite!" The king obeys, but with too little zeal.

(T. Spurgeon.) Striking the Ground means taking territory! Mark your territory and don’t remove your arrows, your quiver is full.

I release the arrow of the Lord’s deliverance in my life (2 Kings 13:17).

I release Your sharp arrows into the heart of the King’s enemies (Psalm 45:5).

Ordain and release Your arrows against my persecutors (Psalm 7:13).

Send out Your arrows, and scatter the enemy (Psalm 18:14).

Make my enemies turn their back with Your arrows upon Your strings (Psalm 21:12).

Shoot out Your arrows, and destroy them (Psalm 144:6).

Send Your arrows abroad (Psalm 77:17).

Send out arrows of light into the kingdom of darkness (Habakkuk 3:11).

Heap mischief upon them, and spend Your arrows upon them (Deuteronomy 32:23).

Shoot Your arrows upon them, and let them be wounded suddenly (Psalm 64:7).

Let Your arrow goes forth as lightning against the enemy (Zechariah 9:14).

Break their bones, and pierce them through with Your arrows (Numbers 24:8).

Shoot at Your enemies with Your arrows (Psalm 64:7).

Set Your mark upon my enemies for Your arrows (Lamentations 3:12).

Make Your arrows bright, and release Your vengeance upon my enemies (Jeremiah 51:11).

Beloved pick up your bow and arrow, your quiver is full and smite the ground with the word of God. Fight in the 3rd heaven boldly before the Throne in the spiritual realm that opens the prophetic window of revelation. Get rid of distractions and hype! Strike the ground and take back your territories and do not remove the arrows of the Lord that mark your territory.
